Learners practice manual and automatic control of a process instrumentation system by controlling water flow rate between two tanks or liquid level in one tank. The system features a heavy-duty welded-steel workstation with industrial components including a chiller, three types of temperature sensors (thermocouple, thermistor, and RTD), and a heating loop network. The Pressure Process Control Learning System allows learners to control liquid level and tank pressure simultaneously using an HMI, programmable automation controller, and variable frequency drive. Major topics include loop control devices, HMI panel operation, pressure control systems, process system alarms, automatic control methods, and open- and closed-loop tuning.
