About EV Build

EV Build is a project-based curriculum program built around one of the most compelling experiences available in technical education — converting a classic hot rod from gas to electric power. Students work through the complete conversion process using a custom Legacy EV conversion kit with OEM safety features and a programmable controller collection, gaining hands-on experience with every major system involved in a professional EV conversion. The project promotes sustainability while developing the 21st century technical skills — electrical theory, system integration, and computer programming — that transfer directly into EV industry careers.

The program is structured as a complete bundle. The instructional aid includes a custom EV conversion kit, OEM safety features, and a programmable controller collection. Turnkey curriculum covers hands-on engineering lessons with an online student companion, instructor overviews, student handouts, diagrams, rubrics, and assessments, plus Level 1 and Level 2 High Voltage Safety Certifications. Instructor training includes six online learning modules, a five-day in-person EV Fundamentals Bootcamp, and more than 200 pages of reference materials.
