Made in the USA from high-quality components at Levil's facility in Oviedo, Florida, the LTC-30 is built around the same design principles that distinguish Levil's milling machines: a solid granite base for vibration absorption and thermal stability, an aluminum body, linear guideways on each axis, direct drive on all axes, and servo-controlled motion for the accuracy and repeatability that production turning demands.
The LTC-30 is a turning center with milling capability, featuring 8 gang-style outside diameter cutting tools, 8 gang-style inside diameter cutting tools, and a 10-position tool rack for milling tools, making it a multi-function small-part production platform that teaches students turning, boring, threading, and milling on a single machine. Preloaded ball screws on all axes deliver the precision and backlash-free motion needed for accurate turning operations across a wide range of part geometries and materials.
Control options
The LTC-30 is available with three control options to match a program's existing equipment ecosystem and curriculum focus.
The FANUC control option uses the FANUC 0i-MF platform, the industry-standard CNC control used across the vast majority of production turning centers worldwide. Students who learn turning on the FANUC-controlled LTC-30 develop the control navigation, G-code turning program structure, and machine operation skills that transfer directly to any FANUC-equipped CNC lathe in a production environment. The FANUC control also directly supports FANUC CNC CERT certification in turning operations, allowing programs to credential students on the same platform as FANUC CNC certification carts. Control specifications include 350W brushless AC servo motors on X and Z axes at 6,000 RPM, with direct drive on all axes and an industrial control with touchscreen, MDI unit, and operator panel.
The Levil proprietary control option uses Levil's own control platform with 400W brushless AC servo motors at 3,000 RPM, with direct drive on all axes and an industrial computer running Mach4 software with a touchscreen operator panel. This option provides an accessible, Windows-based programming environment well suited to introductory CNC turning instruction where ease of use is a priority.
The MachMotion control option provides a third alternative for programs that already use MachMotion control systems across their machining equipment and want consistency across their CNC lab.
Spindle options
The LTC-30 is available with two spindle configurations to match different cutting application needs.
The standard LS-32-C spindle is a 2HP air-cooled spindle running to 3,000 RPM, providing the low-speed, high-torque cutting capability suited to turning harder materials and heavier cuts. It includes a 4-inch self-centering 3-jaw chuck.
The high-speed LS-32-C-220 spindle is a 2HP air-cooled spindle running to 4,500 RPM, providing higher surface speeds for turning softer materials, finishing operations, and small-diameter part production. It also includes a 4-inch self-centering 3-jaw chuck and requires 220VAC power.
Automation capability
