Engine Repair Training Systems by
LJ Create
Engine repair and diagnosis is the foundation of automotive technology education. Whether students are entering careers as service technicians, fleet maintenance specialists, or automotive diagnosticians, a thorough understanding of how engines operate, how their management systems control combustion, and how to diagnose and repair faults in those systems is the bedrock of everything else they will learn. That understanding cannot come from textbooks alone. It requires access to working engines, real management systems, and genuine diagnostic practice.
LJ Create's engine repair training line gives automotive programs exactly that. With complete working gasoline and diesel engine trainers, electronic fuel injection systems, distributorless ignition systems, and engine management panel trainers, LJ Create provides the hardware and curriculum resources programs need to deliver genuine hands-on engine training, whether the goal is basic engine fundamentals, advanced engine management diagnosis, or CAN bus integration in modern powertrains.
Klein Educational supplies LJ Create engine repair training systems to automotive technology programs, community colleges, CTE programs, and workforce development centers across California, Oregon, Washington, Arizona, Nevada, Hawaii, and Alaska. We help programs find the right combination of trainers for their curriculum and facility.
About LJ Create
LJ Create has been an education specialist since 1979, developing hands-on technical training systems for automotive programs worldwide. Their light vehicle training line is aligned to NATEF task requirements and covers the complete range of automotive technology content areas, from engine repair and engine performance through electrical systems, brakes, steering and suspension, and HVAC.
Complete engine trainers
The Gasoline Engine Trainer (761-01) provides the instructor with a complete working engine with an engine management system for group or whole-class demonstration. Mounted on a moveable, heavy-duty steel frame, the system includes all the elements that control the air-fuel ratio, ignition timing, and exhaust emissions, along with the ECU and all sensors and actuators associated with the control system. Students and instructors can observe actual engine operation, interact with sensors and actuators, and perform diagnostic tasks on a fully functional powerplant.
The Gasoline Engine CAN Control Trainer (760-01) is a complete working engine with an engine management system incorporating CAN bus control technology. The engine features the latest twin independent variable camshaft timing (Ti-VCT) technology, optimizing performance, reducing emissions, and increasing fuel efficiency. This trainer is ideal for programs that need to teach modern engine management concepts including variable valve timing and CAN-based engine control integration.
The Common Rail Diesel Engine CAN Control Trainer (762-01) provides the instructor with a complete common rail diesel engine with an engine management system for group or whole-class demonstration. The system comprises all the elements that control injector timing and exhaust emissions, along with the ECU and all sensors and actuators associated with the control system, covering the high-pressure common rail fuel delivery architecture used in modern diesel passenger and light commercial vehicles.
Fuel injection and ignition trainers
The Electronic Fuel Injection System Dry Trainer (767-01) is a real component trainer providing a working multi-point fuel injection system for group or whole-class demonstration. The system includes all the elements that control the air-fuel ratio and ignition timing, along with the ECU and all sensors associated with the control system, in a dry configuration without live fuel that makes it practical for classroom demonstration environments. Features include a manually controllable throttle, air intake MAF sensor, vehicle sensors with test points, canister purge valve, fuel shut-off inertia switch, instrument cluster with engine speed control, ECU pin-outs, crank and camshaft position sensors with oscilloscope test points, and fuel injectors with indicator LEDs and oscilloscope test points.
The Electronic Fuel Injection System Wet Trainer (767-02) delivers the same complete multi-point fuel injection system in a wet configuration with live fuel flow, providing the most realistic fuel injection training environment for programs equipped for live fuel handling.
The Distributorless Ignition System Trainer (765-01) is a real component trainer providing a working distributorless ignition system for group or whole-class demonstration, with all individual components of the system presented on a steel turret for clear identification and inspection.
Engine management panel trainers
The Engine Management Systems Panel Trainer (751-01) provides students and instructors with the opportunity to demonstrate, investigate, and fault-find a simulation of a typical engine management system. The trainer allows access to test points for engine components and the ECU system and provides an understanding of the overall system layout and configuration, making it ideal for classroom-based engine management diagnosis instruction that does not require a complete engine on the floor.
The Displays and Accessories Systems Panel Trainer (752-01) provides hands-on investigation of automotive display systems, with access to test points for vehicle electrical components and exploration of how they relate to dashboard displays and warning lights, covering the instrumentation and warning system content that is increasingly important in modern vehicle diagnosis.
The Automotive Electrics Panel Trainer (753-01) allows students and instructors to demonstrate, investigate, and fault-find a simulation of typical automotive electrical systems, with access to test points for vehicle electrical components and an understanding of overall system layout and configuration.
NATEF alignment
LJ Create's engine repair training systems are aligned to NATEF task requirements for Engine Repair, Engine Performance, and related content areas at the MLR, AST, and MAST levels. NATEF crosswalk documentation is available to help programs match specific trainers to the NATEF tasks they are required to teach, simplifying the equipment selection and curriculum mapping process.
